Education is essential for every child whether girl or boy. Unfortunately, some communities in India still discriminate against the education of a girl child. There was a time when people thought that there is no need to educate girls, because they had their role clearly defined, and it was only about to look after the home and children.

Even after Indian government declared education as a fundamental right, there are still many hurdles that prohibit a girl child from getting the education. The biggest hurdle is the adherence to tradition according to which girls are not rational, and can only do domestic household work. But, now people have begun to realize that girls’ education is equally important as for boys.

• An educated woman can provide & arrange good upbringing for her children that helps in brighten their future.
• Education provides a woman to become self-dependent, and confident. The education broadens her thoughts and makes her aware of her duties and responsibilities.
• An educated woman can go ahead in life, get a job of her choice and become economically independent. She will be able to stand up for her fundamental and gender equality rights.
• Education for rural girls is equally important. It is true that most of the rural girls are not getting opportunity for education. This leaves a bad impact on both economy and society of the nation. 

The education of a girl child simply means making the next generation well educated, and capable of doing something good for the whole society and country.
