JEE (Main) 2016: Important Facts, Syllabus, Preparation Tips & More

JEE (Main) is conducted every year for admission to top engineering institutions in India such as IITs, NITs, and institutions in participating States. Of the total 13 lakhs applicants, only the top 1.5 lakh students are selected to appear in JEE (Advanced). However, this year the IIT council has decided to select at least 2 lakh students for JEE (Advanced) 2016. Some Important Facts Of JEE (Main)

·         The JEE main is attempted by more than 13 lakh students every year.

·         The objective of the Joint Entrance Examination was to make engineering entrance exams unified and reduce the pressure of several exams on students.

·         In India, not all states have accepted the JEE selection system. The states that have joined JEE system are Maharashtra, Gujarat, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Odisha.
